DONnA in blu: Donata Panuccio’s Portraits of the Inner World

A Palazzi Community Center Art Exhibit

Florence, April 10, 2025 – The latest Palazzi Community Center exhibition at Corridoio Fiorentino, DONnA in blu, opened a window into the inner mind of Florentine artist and psychologist Donata Panuccio. Presented by the Curating Gallery Exhibition class at The American University of Florence, this intimate solo show invited guests for an evening of reflection, emotion, and abstract beauty.

Panuccio’s work blends her therapeutic background with a powerful visual language. Her oil paintings, steeped in symbolism and shaped by personal experience, explore the nuanced interplay between femininity, memory, and nature’s quiet strength. “Art allows me to speak without words,” Panuccio shares, “It’s where emotions that can’t be explained find their form.”

While her journey began with graphite and ink, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic that she turned to oil painting as both a meditative escape and a deeper form of self-expression. Her process is intuitive, starting with no set subject and evolving into figures shaped by memory and mood.

Among the sixteen original works on display, La Sirena holds a special place in the artist’s heart. With fluid shapes and ethereal tones, the painting evokes a dreamlike serenity, blurring the lines between fairytale and psychological insight.

The opening night drew a sizable and enthusiastic crowd, filling the gallery space with warm conversation and quiet contemplation. Visitors, including local art lovers, students, and members of the academic community, lingered before each canvas, reflecting on the deeply personal stories embedded in Panuccio’s expressive brushwork.

The exhibition is open to both locals and students, with all works available for purchase on site at the Palazzi Community Center. Through this collection, Panuccio offers not just images, but invitations to feel, to remember, and to connect.

More than just an exhibition, DONnA in blu is a celebration of vulnerability, intuition, and the quiet power of inner worlds. In every brushstroke, Donata Panuccio reminds us that art, like emotion, needs no translation, but only presence.
